Port Richey inventor’s Magical Butter machine gets ‘high’ marks from foodies, stoners

Laura Reiley
Port Richey resident Garyn Angel’s Magical Butter appliance is touted as the world’s only botanical extractor. Though Angel says the multipurpose machine could fit into any kitchen, it is a darling in medical marijuana circles.

Garyn Angel has invented an appliance that, in some circles, is making serious waves. It gets “high” marks in 420 magazine, raves on Toke City and Cannabis Culture forums. It even created a stir at the recent Fancy Food Show in New York, winning the popular vote in the “My Story, My Ad” contest.
It is Magical Butter, touted as the world’s only botanical extractor, pulling plant nutrients directly into butter, cooking oils, alcohol and lotions. Need a decoder? It’s helpful in making pot brownies and late-night pizza with that extra little something.

Two-Thirds of Californians Say Legalize Marijuana

by Phillip Smith

Will California wait until 2016 to vote on legalizing marijuana? A poll released Thursday strongly suggests voters in the Golden State are ready to legalize it right now.

Should marijuana be legal? California says “yes.”

The new Tulchin Research poll has support for legalizing marijuana at just under two-thirds (65%), with only 32% opposed. It shows majority support for legalization among every demographic except one—Republican Party members. Even among Republicans, support for legalization (47%) trailed opposition (50%) by only three points.

War on Weed Clouds Common Sense

By Linn Washington Jr.

Hemp has multiple uses from food to fuel to textiles and ending pot prohibition would save the United States of America millions, now spent on anti-pot propaganda. Under America’s draconian drug laws, a conviction for marijuana possession can bar a person permanently from receiving federal education loans – a penalty absurdly not applicable to convictions for serious crimes like armed robbery and rape.

Tim Bryant/WN – Engineer Jayeson Hendyrsan directs hempcrete into the wall frame of the microhouse being constructed on Dion Lefebvre’s property south of Westlock on Oct. 5. The house is part of a workshop to explain the benefits of hemp as a building medium.

A mini housing revolution took place in the Westlock area over the past week, in more ways than one.
Out at Dion Lefebvre’s property south of town, he and a number of specialized contractors were working on what he termed a “microhouse” constructed from an unusual material — hemp.
“It’s more eco-friendly and durable,” Lefebvre said of his choice of building material.
