“Just Move To A State Where It’s Legal”: A Marijuana Mom Responds

“Just Move To A State Where It’s Legal”: A Marijuana Mom Responds

Diane Fornbacher, Publisher of Ladybud Magazine, recently posed a question online asking how people felt about the advice given to so many activist parents when it comes to having their family’s safety threatened by bad marijuana laws. Oftentimes, these mothers are told to just “move to a legal state.”
One detail that struck me during the open and balanced online discussion was a judgmental undertone that appeared to be aimed by dissenters towards the parents who agreed with the advice.
Respondents in favor of moving overwhelmingly cited their children and the effect legal consequences would have on them as their reason to move. Some responding have had personal, devastating interaction with Child Protective Services (CPS) already and are suffering the consequences. It is unclear if any of the parents responding in dissent have had CPS experiences.

Weed War: Marijuana Plants Sprout across German City

The university town of Göttingen is getting greener and greener. But not everyone is pleased: The new plants sprouting up in parks, planter boxes and gardens across the city aren’t part of an official city-beautification project. They’re part of a pro-marijuana protest.
In early June, a group calling itself “A Few Autonomous Flower Children” spread several kilograms of marijuana seeds throughout the city. Only now are the fruits of their labor beginning to emerge from the soil. “We can’t set eyes on this useful and beautiful plant because it’s absolutely forbidden in Germany to grow it,” the group wrote in a letter claiming responsibility for the action. And they say that’s not right.

Marijuana May Make Us Thinner, Even with the Munchies

By Elizabeth Simmons for DietsInReview.com

This infographic breaks down data from a new research study that finds a correlation between smaller waist size …

It sounds counter-intuitive, but marijuana may help people be thinner. The illegal drug known for causing the munchies was at the heart of a recent study (published in May’s Journal of American Medicine) that examined its effect on metabolic processes. The results, though certainly not conclusive, show a correlation between smaller waist circumference and marijuana use. Not only were users thinner, but they also appeared to be healthier overall than those who have never used marijuana.

A Colorado businessman is on a mission to start selling marijuana right next to potatoes, tomatoes and bread at farmers markets and according to CBS Denver, his inspiration comes from Seattle’s own NW Cannabis Farmers Market, which bills itself as America’s only daily cannabis market.
A similar bi-monthly marijuana market, theCannabis Farmers Market, can be found in Tacoma. Right now, the pot at these venues is not available to the general public, they cater only to medical marijuana patients and require customers to show official paperwork and IDs.
“These are individual patient farmers and under collective gardeners and under Washington law they are allowed to offer their excess medicine for donation,” NW Cannabis Market spokesman Michael Keysor told CBS Denver.
