Where the people lead, the leaders will follow – Ghandi

Nothing honors Ghandi’s vision more stunningly than the citizens movement to legalize marijuana and industrial hemp. At the time former Congressman Ron Paul introduced his 2011 Industrial Hemp Farming Act Bill, five states (North Dakota, Hawaii, Kentucky, Maine, Oregon, California, Montana, West Virginia and Vermont) had enacted laws authorizing industrial hemp cultivation. Without Obama’s support, the bill died in committee. Fast forward to November 2012, when Colorado voters passed Amendment 64 to legalize hemp cultivation.Last week the Denver Post reported on the Colorado farmer who made history by harvesting the first commercial hemp crop in the US in 56 years.

Slovenia – “We’ve drafted the bill to prevent pharmaceutical industry from getting sole access to cannabis”

Ljubljana – MMC RTV SLO

We’ve drafted the bill to prevent the pharmaceutical industry from getting sole access to cannabis. Our bill allows every individual to grow a kilogram of cannabis for self-supply, and they can start self-treatment with this,” stresses Bitenc.
If the production of cannabis were in the sole hands of the pharmaceutical industry, they would profit from it at our expense, since we wouldn’t be able to grow it ourselves. A good example is Canada, where the use of cannabis for medical purposes has been legalized and handed over to the pharmaceutical industry. The black market would be reinstated, since prices there are lower and the quality of products is better,” warns Bitenc.

A conservative Republican Utah state lawmaker is backing an unexpected group of advocates: Mormon moms fighting for medical cannabis for their children.
State Rep. Gage Froerer (R-Huntsville) has committed to help Hope 4 Children With Epilepsy, an advocacy group fighting for safe access to cannabis oil. The oil contains little to no THC, the chemical that causes the high in marijuana, but is high in cannabidiol, a compound that may fight seizures in some forms of epilepsy. Though legal in neighboring Colorado, the oil is not legal in Utah.

Rick Sanchez: Let’s Legalize Marijuana Like The Uruguayans, For Our Children’s Sake

By

America “needs to get to its children, before its children get to the drugs.” I’ve always believed in those words and went so far as coining it as a spokesperson for the DARE program in South Florida some years ago. Do I still believe it? Absolutely. But when it comes to marijuana, I now believe the way to achieve that vaulted goal is not through criminalization, but rather education.
That’s right, it’s time to do as the Uruguayans and legalize marijuana.
