Legalizing Marijuana Background Checks

They came from near and far. Las Vegas Valley developers, medical marijuana industry veterans from Colorado and area doctors were among them.
The odds were against them. Seventy-nine applicants — down from 81 — aiming for part of the region’s next industry: medical marijuana. And Clark County had just 18 slots for medical marijuana dispensaries.
There were familiar names among the winners that county commissioners picked Friday at the end of a three-day hearing. Longtime developer and gaming executive Randy Black, who retired last year as chief operating officer at Mesquite Gaming, for example, hopes to open a dispensary in Laughlin. He was the only applicant there.

Bitcoin Could Change Voting the Way It’s Changed Money

There’s a sense bubbling up in the cryptocorners of the internet that the trick to bitcoin might be that it doesn’t have to be a currency at all. Maybe cryptocurrency’s fundamental value is as a security protocol—a safe, anonymous, hack-proof network that decentralizes trust and democratizes power. And maybe a hitherto overlooked use of all that is politics, by using the bitcoin precedent to overhaul democratic voting.

Arizona On the Road to Becoming Twelfth State to Provide PTSD Patients Access to Medical Marijuana; Veterans, Medical Professionals and Advocates Winning in Three Year Quest To Change Arizona Law and Acknowledge Medical Marijuana’s Benefit for PTSD

PHOENIX, AZ – After years of hard-fought efforts a coalition of patients, medical professionals, and advocates succeeded in demonstrating the medical safety and efficacy of marijuana for post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), according to the Administrative Law Judge who heard the case.

The Arizona Dept. of Health has denied all petitions submitted previously.

On Wednesday, June 4, 2014 Judge Thomas Shedden issued his ruling saying that “a preponderance of evidence shows medical marijuana provides palliative benefit to those suffering from PTSD.”

The decision is now in the hands of Will Humble, Director of Arizona Dept. of Health Services; Humble has until July 9th, 2014 to accept or appeal Judge Shedden’s decision.

On Wednesday, Cuomo announced that New York will be the second state to launch medical marijuana trials for children suffering from epilepsy. Those trials, however, are limited to Epidiolex, a drug developed by GW Pharmaceuticals that contains a plant-derived, highly purified form of cannabidiol, or CBD, a non-psychoactive compound found in cannabis. CBD is often used for medicinal purposes, but doesn’t produce the “high” sensation associated with marijuana.
While Epidiolex offers promising possibilities, medical marijuana advocates were outraged by the governor’s announcement, saying that limited trials don’t go far enough for patients in the state and that Cuomo needs to come out in strong support of the Compassionate Care Act now.
“We don’t need a limited research program that will only help the lucky few who can get in enrolled,” said Wendy Conte of Orchard Park, New York, whose daughter Anna suffers from a severe seizure disorder.

After a history of rejecting marijuana-related ballot measures at the certify-the-popular-name-and-ballot-title step of the process, Arkansas’ attorney general, Democrat Dusin McDaniel, is allowing the Arkansas Hemp and Cannabis Amendment to move forward.

Supporters of the measure now have until July 7to file the necessary petition signatures—78,133 of them. They have to hit a specified minimum number of signatures in 15 of the seventy five counties in Arkansas. The amendment was proposed by Robert Reed, whose medical marijuana amendment was rejected earlier this year at the same point in the process.

Marijuana Incubator Group, Inc. Enters Billion Dollar Dental Hygiene Industry Targeting Cannabis Users with the Launch of the Dental Cannatizer
