CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo. (KMOX) – The Show-Me Cannabis Caravan makes a stop in Cape Girardeau this evening on a statewide campaign to promote the legalization and regulation of marijuana.
St. Louis Police Sgt. Gary Wiegert, a Tea Party activist and lobbyist for the Show-Me Cannabis group, will be a featured speaker.
Weigert says he will be acting as a private citizen, not as a law enforcement officer, and that the role doesn’t constitute a conflict of interest.

“I have arrested hundreds of people for marijuana and it really hasn’t had much of an effect on marijuana use, other than it’s ruined a lot of people’s lives and given people records,” Wiegert said.
